When Jesus Opens Your Eyes
Two blind men are following Jesus through the streets, shouting at the top of their lungs. They can't see where he's going, but they won't stop calling out to him. They use this title—'Son of David'—which is a really big deal. They're saying Jesus is the promised King from David's family line, the one everyone's been waiting for.
When Jesus finally stops and turns around, he asks them a question that seems almost too obvious: 'Do you believe I can do this?' Of course they believe it—that's why they've been chasing him down the street! But Jesus wants to hear them say it out loud. 'Yes, Lord,' they answer. And just like that, according to their trust in him, their eyes are opened.
Here's what's wild: Jesus tells them not to tell anyone. But they can't help themselves. When you've been in the dark your whole life and suddenly you can see, you're going to talk about it. That's just how it works. The moment Jesus does something real in your life, keeping quiet becomes almost impossible.
