When God asks you to move before you're ready
It was by faith that Abraham obeyed when God called him to leave home and go to another land that God would give him as his inheritance. He went without knowing where he was going.
There's something almost reckless about this verse. Abraham didn't have Google Maps. He didn't have a five-year plan. He didn't even have a destination address. God said go, and Abraham went. That's it. That's the whole story in one sentence.
Most of us would never do this. We want clarity before we commit. We want the full picture before we take the first step. We pray for God to show us the entire path, and then we'll decide if we're willing to walk it. But that's not how faith works. Faith is saying yes to God when all you can see is the next step.
Here's what strikes me about Abraham: he had enough. He had a word from God, and that was sufficient. He didn't need a detailed itinerary. He didn't need to know how long the journey would take or what obstacles he'd face. One word from God changed everything. And maybe that's what you need today—not more information, but the courage to act on what God has already told you.
Faith isn't about having all the answers. It's about knowing the One who does. Abraham went without knowing where he was going, but he knew who was leading him. And that made all the difference.
