Can one week use both?
Yes, if you actually have both a sermon and a book. Keep two bookmarks. Do not merge them into one journal entry that cites neither clearly.
How the study works
Scripture Journey has two public shelves. Sermon studies start from a church’s Sunday passage and show Day 1 on the web. Book studies are guides through a book, with an outline and an outline source named on the book. Support also mentions family devotionals and Ask Anything as further ways in when your church is not listed. Using one shelf does not complete the other. Pick the shelf that matches the thing in your hand: a sermon you heard, or a book you are reading.
Start at Studies, then the church, then the week. The sermon-notes guide explains why that page is not the transcript.
The date line may say “Sermon” plus a preached date, or “Week of” when the preached date is not what the page has. The week-of guide is that label. Do not invent a Sunday to fill it.
Open Book studies and use one sitting of the outline. The page lists the whole outline so you can see the trail. Listing it is not an assignment to finish it tonight.
Audience labels on a book, including a guide for couples reading together, belong to that book. They are not a second sermon.
Support says you can request the church from the Today screen, or email support@pepstarllc.com with the name. Until then the book shelf is still a real library.
Do not treat a book guide as notes on a sermon it never heard.

The app carries the rest of a sermon week past Day 1, and it holds the book journeys. The web page you opened tells you which of those you started.
