Read the Bible without a streak

A streak counts consecutive days. It does not record whether you understood the passage. Scripture Journey’s support page says the 5-day sermon study has no daily streak to break. If you miss Tuesday, Wednesday is still the next day of the same passage, not a reset. The alternative is a plan you can name in one line: which passage, where you stopped, and when you will open it next.

Replace the counter with a bookmark

Write the reference and the last verse you actually read. “John” is not a bookmark. “John 15:7” is.

The next sitting starts at that verse, even if the calendar skipped. Rereading a paragraph is allowed. Pretending you finished a chapter you did not read is not.

A week that matches a sermon

If you are in a sermon study, the five days are the plan. Missing one does not create a sixth day and does not delete the page.

If you are not in a sermon study, a single chapter a sitting is enough. The one-chapter guide is that plan.

What this site will not do

It will not tell you that a missed day undoes the week. Support says you can do the five days in one sitting or across the week.

It will not invent a completion percentage. Either you read the sitting or you did not. Your journal can say which.

Questions

Is a reading plan bad?

A plan is a decision about what you will open. A streak is a scoreboard on top of that decision. Keep the plan. You do not need the scoreboard.

What if I want the app to remind me?

A reminder is a nudge, not a grade. Whether notifications are on is a device setting. Missing one does not change the passage.
